Mix proportion optimization and early strength development in modified foam concrete: an experimental study

Abstract The influence of the single polycarboxylate superplasticizer (PCE) and blending it mixed hydroxypropyl methylcellulose (HPMC) on hardening moulding quality surface pulverisation foam concrete was investigated. An orthogonal experimental design employed to determine optimum combination parameters for four property indexes (PIs) in this paper. A multi-index matrix analysis method used evaluate parameter combinations obtain overall optimal performance PIs. effect calcium formate (CaF) early compressive strength modified with most different density grades also studied. results indicate that incomplete cement hydration reaction is essential cause pulverisation, which can be alleviated by adding a suitable PCE. Defoaming precipitation occur when PCE incorporated exceeds 0.1%, mitigated addition 0.02 0.06% HPMC. indicates anti-cracking agent has more substantial than thickening agent. significant factor mechanical properties PP fiber followed dispersible latex powder (DLP). HPMC, 0.3% DLP, 0.5% fiber. significantly enhanced increasing CaF content. However, level decrease 28-day concrete.
